My process is deeply rooted in traditional woodworking techniques. I often investigate the interplay among raw material, conceptual dialogue, and sculptural design.

With a concern for sustainability, a conscious effort to respect my chosen material is constant throughout my studio practice. This frequently presents me with an opportunity to source reclaimed wood or fallen trees.

The embedded narrative of place is integral to the development of my work. I intently consider how wood can provide a connection to a particular location. This is a notion I find unavoidable in my woodturning practice.

My sculptural works frequently incorporate a playful and ironic use of familiar everyday objects, represented through sculptural trompe l’oeil, to encourage a question of functionality or purpose.
